Today in class we read the majority of chapter 5. Chapter 5 rules. As we read we made post-it notes when we found examples of McCandless separating himself from mainstream society. We had a bit of discussion on how although McCandless is sickened by mainstream culture and capitalist society, he takes a job at McDonald's. Please comment on other student's comments.
1. What is your opinion for why he took the job?
2. Why do you think he hates wearing socks?
3. If McCandless would have left a note to all the people at McDonald's when he left, what do you think it would have said? (Please use appropriate language please)

I think he took the job is that he wanted some money and he is missing home so McDonald's reminded him of home in a way. I think he hates wearing sock becuase he likes his feet to be free and wants to be differnt because everyone eles were socks. The note would maybe say is leave me alone about my life and get a new job.

3. I think that in the note he would of just said that he did't liek that job and that he didn't like wearing them. Like, nobody can tell you what to use or wear! idk. maybe.
1.Probably he wanted to help people who are working there and maybe he can get few extra bucks, even though he burned his credit card and money he leftover when he abandoned his car.

I think the note would of said something about that hes not leaving becuse he hates it their,. He would of wrote something like i cant be in 1 place 2 long so thats y im leaving.. thanks 4 everything.
