2.Why does the author choose to give that information to you early in the book?

    the author chooses to give you this information because it leaves you with a hook and makes you wonder what caused him to die and give up his money and car.

    maybe to let the reader know ahead of time who he was && why he might have done it...? to let us know why he's so interested in what happened.

    to let you make your own infrence on the book before hand (your prediction may be correct or incorrect) which may be kind of misleading.

    for that the author could write about what chris did and what people though of him that he knew and he meet

    The author choose to give that information to us early in the book because i think it is a catchy intro. and it gets the readers attention and that's wut is really important. I thouhgt it was a good idea 2 mansion wut Chris has done so far.

    I think the author chose to do this, because its based on the true story and he gave everything about why Chris McCandless did it.

    The author gave us information early in the book to learn where hes from, what hes been through. All we are doing is recovering his footsteps.
